FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Experts Advise of Mosquito-Borne Illness Alert - September 17, 2024
We have confirmed a locally acquired case of dengue virus in an area of Pasco County. To keep our community safe, the Pasco County Mosquito Control District is stepping up mosquito control measures, including increased surveillance and adulticide and larvicide applications by ground and air.

🦟 How You Can Help:

  • Use insect repellent with DEET, picaridin, or IR3535 especially during the daytime.
  • Drain standing water around your home—mosquitoes breed in stagnant water.
  • Wear protective clothing when outdoors.
  • Avoid peak mosquito activity times, which are often early morning and late afternoon.

Your safety is our priority. For more information, visit PascoMosquito.org or contact us at 727-376-4568. Stay vigilant and protect yourself from mosquito exposure!
